FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION:
Minneapolis (MN, USA) APRIL 1, 2025
Midwest Megagames unveils new brand identity reflecting company's transformation and focus on the future of global media experiences.
We are pleased to announce Midwest Megagames (MWM) will be rebranding as American GIGAGAMES™ (AGG). AGG better describes our vision to be the premier, high-end, all-media, multi-national entertainment conglomerate that the megagaming hobby needs to be taken seriously on the world stage.
Following the explosive growth of our games in the past fiscal year, AGG is dedicated to delivering digital-first and global-first media solutions from the center of global gaming, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 2014, Shut up and Sit Down's Watch the Skies video has been a primary way that people have entered the megagaming hobby. As part of the rebranding, AGG has entered a strategic partnership as the exclusive gaming partner of ESPN 8, The Ocho. Not only will we provide live broadcasts of megagames from around the world, but we're proud to announce the world premier of GIGAGAMES™.
"I have a reputation for saying 'let’s up that player count!'," says Trenton Greyoak, AGG Chief Operating Officer, "and here we are again. It’s time to go GIGA."
Stay tuned over the coming weeks for all-new marketing materials and sweepstakes to win AGG swag in anticipation of our inaugural World Championship GIGAGAMES™. From the sleek designs of our new stationary to the colorways of our website, all aspects of this brand will help newcomers to the hobby understand what it really means to be a GIGAGAMER™.
"Shifting our brand from MWM to AGG means our abbreviation will sound more like you're choking on a pretzel than savoring a delicious strawberry, which better aligns with the feeling of playing or running a megagame." - Daniel Beaver, Chief of Business Excellence Management and Technology Systems
"I am not real clear on the purpose of the rebranding" - Tim Troxel, Executive Director Generalist, Special Projects Operations. Tim is also spearheading our exclusive lines of GIGAGAME™-themed apparel and baked goods.
Finally, a statement from Lucas Crist, Founder of Midwest Megagames: "On advice of counsel, I choose to invoke my fifth amendment privilege against self-incrimination and respectfully decline to answer your question."
